Salay Handmade Paper Industries Inc. (Salayhandmade) is a Fair Trade enterprise of about 400 rural folks in the coastal town of Salay, Misamis Oriental, in the island of Mindanao, Philippines.

Salayhandmade aims to help in the growth and development of its people through rural entrepreneurship in the art of handmade papermaking, pressed flower design, and crafting. We started with 10 people, mostly, women, as a civic organization in 1987, and today we continue to network with government and nongovernment entities for the achievement of our missions through the dictum: “Yes, the Filipino Can!”

The base of our handcrafted products is a mixture of non-tree and sustainable raw materials, converted into products through the traditional process of handmade papermaking that conforms to strict environmental standards.

The décor we use in our creations of handmade greeting cards, boxes, calendars, notebooks and other novelty items are pasted piece by piece – making each composition an original work of art so exquisite, as they breathe the aspirations of the workers for a better and more dignified life.
